Although interior design is something most people associate with private dwellings: it's becoming increasingly obvious how important it is in commercial spaces as well. These trends aren't small ideas. Good interior design for companies can be the difference between a customer making a purchase or an employee doing the best work they possibly can.

These are the top trending commercial interior design ideas that will help your company stand independently.

1. Etched Concrete Floors

Concrete floors can be incredibly boring: so it's a good idea to switch things up and add intrigue to an otherwise common area. Although there are multiple different methods of etching concrete floors, from acid to hydro-etching, you must take the time to seek out a professional who can go over the process and perform it for you.

Etching, especially when using acid, can create incredible results, but it's risky for people completing the etching if they aren't professionals. So it's better to pay someone who knows what they're doing.

When you get an etched floor, make sure that it gets sealed correctly to protect the pattern from moisture and scuffing, and your offices will have one of the top trends currently doing the rounds for commercial buildings.

2. Gorgeous Glass Curtain Walls for Separation

Glass walls may not offer much privacy, but in an office that wants to feel open and like it’s not hiding anything from employees or coworkers: glass curtain walls can be incredible. These walls allow you the privacy to speak to each other while also offering the chance to feel part of the office still and interact with those on the outside of the room.

These are also fantastic for partitioning off different sections of the office that handle various tasks. It works because it allows these portions of the company to feel together and separated simultaneously, which ensures no part of the company will be distracted by what others are doing. Yet, they can easily interact and feel united.

Feeling like you're just one large team is important for employee morale and puts everyone on equal footing.

3. Better Mail Solutions

Mail is a major part of every company, from the correspondence some employees need to bring in from outside the company to the multiple ways that other companies, clients, and business connections may try to communicate with you. Because of this, every commercial space must have a great mail space.

You don't have to dedicate a full room to the mail, but you should ensure there's a portion of your building that's perfectly suited to retrieving and sorting mail. For some businesses, this may mean a vertical mailbox that allows everyone to have unique keys, and for others, it could mean a full mail sorting room. The space depends on the type of business you do and how much correspondence your employees should expect to receive.

4. Greenery In Every Corner

The color green is more than just pretty! Studies have found that looking at the color green activates our body's serotonin-producing process, improving mood and increasing our ability to work hard. Because of this, it's a good idea to ensure that greenery stretches through your building: and it's becoming a trend to include as much plant life inside the building as you can.

Plants can improve the air quality of the building and often don't need much care as long as you get plants that do best in your environment. Make sure you don't go for any kinds of plants that like to crawl or climb items since this will eventually take over the entire office.

Instead, seek out plants that can handle the light levels in your office and whatever temperatures this area is usually set to. This will ensure the plant stays alive for as long as possible while also giving you the chance to improve the moods and air quality of the office.

5. Floors That Fight Moisture and Add Comfort

Heated floors may seem silly in an office because we all have our shoes on at work: but they do have perks! Not only do they make a space more comfortable, but heated floors also drive out moisture that could have otherwise turned into mold or rot.

Make sure that you place these wisely and set them on a schedule. For example, heated floors may be nice on the main floor in the early morning, but in the evening, it can be strange to talk into an office kitchen and suddenly feel the heated floors.

This is an option you can change and play with to make your own!

Trends Become Popular for a Reason

The trends that cycle through every season will shift depending on what else is going on in the corporate world. But, at the same time, every trend makes sense in its own way: so don't be afraid to consider some of these for your company.
